16 Years of Poetry

On the 4th Wednesday of every month poets gather to share their work and to hear the work of others.

Since 2008, Poetry By The Bay has been a staple of the Bay Area poetic community by encouraging us all to vulnerably uncover a part of ourselves.

We have our regulars. Some who have been coming for over a decade, while we also have first time readers who felt comfortable enough to share their work in front of an audience for the first time.

Be there to experience what’s been created, curated and aged for a decade and a half.

Tickets are free, but seating is limited so reserve yours today!

PBTB Swag

Represent where you like to read poetry and encourage someone else to do the same. Poetry By The Bay, since 2008, has helped encourage thousands. Keep encouraging the next person to pick up the pen again or for the maybe for the first time. Regardless of your history with writing in the past, the one discipline we all must embrace is:

The History & Future of Poetry By The Bay

So, It Begins

Poetry By The Bay was founded by Kyrah Ayers in 2008. We began as a small poetry show in Vallejo, CA where everyone was welcome to come & share their work in a judgement free zone.

The Rebirth

After the pandemic Poetry By The Bay returned from our virtual only presence to begin our new residence at the Mira Theatre with the amazing Keith Thompson as host where we’ll be celebrating our 15 year anniversary on August 23, 2023.

The Growth

In 2013 we moved to an art gallery in downtown Vallejo where we expanded our reach and capacity. In 2018, Kyrah retired as host and passed the torch to Vallejo’s Poet Laureate Jeremey Snyder.
